Press Release丨Xuyu Optoelectronics' Plant Lighting Technology Wins Second Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress Award from China National Lig

Recently, the Fifth Fifth Council Meeting of China National Light Industry Council and the Eighth Fifth Council Meeting of the National Federation of Handicraft Cooperatives were held in Beijing. The conference honored recipients of the 2024 Scientific and Technological Progress Award in China's light industry. Among the awardees, the "Development of LED Plant Lighting Technology for Modern Facility Agriculture" project, spearheaded by Xuyu Optoelectronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., was awarded the Second Prize of the Scientific and Technological Progress Award by the China National Light Industry Council.

This project, leveraging a deep industry-university-research collaborative innovation model, achieved three major breakthroughs in core technologies for plant lighting: 

1. Self-developed fluorescent conversion infrared LED technology, featuring a unique half-wave width, independent intellectual property rights, and high photoelectric conversion efficiency, has pioneered a new technical pathway for plant growth signal transmission. 

2. By innovating high-reflectance white adhesive technology, high-airtightness coating, and high-efficiency phosphor technology, the photosynthetic photon efficacy (PPE) of the company’s white and red LED devices has reached internationally leading levels. This accomplishment breaks foreign technological monopolies and enables import substitution. 

3. Through groundbreaking optimization of LED plant light wavelengths and the integration of LED with spectral sensing technology, the system can precisely regulate the light environment—like an experienced horticulturist—based on different growth stages of plants. This innovation effectively stimulates and monitors plant growth, significantly improving both quality and efficiency. 

Expert evaluations confirm that Xuyu Optoelectronics’ LED plant lighting technology has achieved international leading standards, with related innovations protected by 12 patented inventions. The technology has already been applied across modern agricultural scenarios such as greenhouses, vertical farming, plant factories, and home gardening. It provides innovative technical solutions for smart agriculture, driving profound transformations in agricultural production methods.
